Senior Model 2015 | Cache Valley Senior Portrait Photographer

I have set a goal to get completely caught up on blogging before the end of next week.  So in doing that, I went back through my more recent shoots and discovered I still hadn't blogged this one!  My last Senior Model for the 2015 school year.

Abigail is a Senior at Mt. Crest this year, she also just so happens to be my neighbor.  She is really active in music and I was hoping to drag a piano out into a field for her Senior portraits, but that didn't really seem realistic.  So we headed to my favorite park to get some super cute pics.  I can't wait to see what her Senior year holds for her! If you are looking to get Senior pictures done in Logan or Cache Valley, find Abigail at Mt. Crest.  She has a great deal for you!

P Family Baby Announcement | Logan Utah Photographer

I have been waiting and waiting to post these cute pregnancy announcement pictures and the time has finally come!  Congratulations to my most awesome makeup artist Ashley and her husband Eric on their upcoming arrival!  I could not be more happy for them!  Ashley asked me back in June to help her set up a surprise for her family on Father's Day.  She had some super cute ideas on ways she wanted to break the big news to her family.  She took the first picture here and blew it up great big.  She then told her dad his present was around the side of the house where her husband had set up an easel and balloons.  Ashley has the whole thing on video and it couldn't be cuter!  Tears were shed.  It was a really great day for all of them.

For this shoot Ashley wanted to go to the poppy fields in Mantua.  She had heard they were gorgeous and in full bloom and I had heard from a few photographers in a group I am in, that it was a popular place to shoot.  I followed the directions someone from the group had given, and when we arrived we found out just how popular it was!  Holy photographers everywhere! There wasn't a place to even park and there were only probably 10 feet between each photographer.  It was actually really funny and I wish we could have found a parking spot so I could have taken a picture of all the people out in that field!  We had passed a place on the way in that was just a little hillside with poppies so we headed back that direction.  Only one other photographer and family at that spot so we were set.  We got all set up for the first shot and POP! One of the announcement balloons blew.  So Ashley headed back to the car for more.  Then POP! again.  Be careful in a field to not let the balloons to close to the weeds.  Lesson learned.

Congratulations again Ashley and Eric, you two are going to make wonderful parents and that little peanut is lucky to have you!

Meg Bridals | Northern Utah Bridal Photographer

As I've said probably 5 million times on this here blog, I'm no longer shooting weddings.  But you probably also know that I am not one to pass up the opportunity to shoot bridals, I looooooove shooting bridal portraits!  Through a strange twist of fate, I actually did end up shooting this gorgeous girl's wedding.  With some very good sweet talk and a call from my mother-in-law, I was convinced to shoot this one wedding this year.  You probably won't see the pics on here though because I don't like to showcase things that I don't shoot.  Kind of confuses people.

For this bridal shoot we headed up to the Logan Temple.  The happy couple was getting married there in June (yep, I'm that far behind on blogging) so we decided to start there and find another location for some other shots.  She brought along her mom and her cutest ever grandma.  They were such good sports on indulging me and my over active shooting.  Sometimes I need to be told when someone is done or else I will just keep shooting until it gets too dark.  I have issues.  After the temple we headed to a small park on the USU campus.  The blossoms were out and it was just too gorgeous!

Her wedding day turned out great.  There was threats of rain so her mom bought a cute umbrella to match her colors.  Turned out that we didn't even need it though because it didn't start raining until we got in the car after taking her formals.  What luck!  And rain on your wedding day is supposed to be good luck.  These two won't need it though, I'm not sure I've ever seen a bride and groom so happy on their wedding day.

Missionary Pictures | Logan Utah Portrait Photographer

In my last post I introduced you to this cute boy's family.  He's been on the blog before, last year, when I got to do his Senior portraits, and here he is already going off on his mission.  With this new rule that the missionaries can go out at 18, it just seems like time is racing by even faster!  He was just a kid on the soccer field and now he's already a man headed out to Chile.

He wanted to take his missionary portraits at the Draper Temple because it holds a special place in his heart.  It's a gorgeous temple!  That was my first time there and it has some amazing views.  I die over those stained glass windows, so pretty!  As always, Josh was a trooper and we got to take some really fun shots, it's actually kind of hard to take a bad shot of him.  The camera loves him!  We wandered around the temple grounds while his mother and brother were ever so patient.  We had a lot of fun and got some great shots.  The people of Chile are going to love this guy, he's just so great!

The F Family | Utah Family Portrait Photographer

I have been very fortunate in this job to get to meet some great people that I never would have gotten to meet otherwise.  This is one of those families.  They contacted me last year about doing Senior Portraits for the youngest son.  I got to go to Salt Lake and shoot in new places, and take some of my favorite shots!  You can check them out here: Josh.  His mom contacted me this spring to ask me to do a family session for her before Josh left on his LDS mission.  Her other son would just be getting home and she would have them together for only 5 short weeks before she sent the other one out.  What a brave Mom!  For 4 years, she only gets her sons together to 5 weeks!  Go her for making such a sacrifice. I also got to take Josh's missionary pictures.  I will do another post of just those images, so be sure to check back, they will be posted really soon.

I have to admit, this session was a bit challenging to me.  We went to this same park last fall and got some really fun shots.  I didn't really consider how popular this place would be on a gorgeous summer night.  There were people everywhere!   So I had to do my best to improvise and work with the space that we had.  I think it truly worked out in the end and we got some awesome family portraits that she can hold onto at least for the next 2 years until her boys are back together again.
