Megan + James | Logan Utah Wedding Photographer

I love shooting in locations I haven't ever shot at before.  I think it makes me be a better photographer because I have to push myself to be creative instead of just using the same poses that I would use in a place I've been to multiple times.  I believe that those familiar spots have their place, they can make me feel confident in what I am capturing, but a new place really makes me use my artistic side.

Brandi took me to this spot in Logan which I had shot at once before but really hadn't explored.  For instance, I had no idea there was this cute little park just behind a building that I would have never guess was back there. We were still having our beautiful fall days which made the background just so beautiful. This couple was so much fun to work with.  Her dimples!  I die.  I can't wait until the next time I am put in a challenging situation so I an see what sort of rabbits I pull out of my hat!

Come find me on Facebook, I post sneak peeks sometimes weeks before you get to see it on the blog!

McKenzie B - Logan Utah Senior Photographer

McKenzie is another of my senior models this year and you have already seen her first shoot here.  Who knows, you might even see her again because I just really like shooting with her!  She has a really fun personality and is so cute.  She lives right down the street from me, so maybe someday when I get some time to shoot just for fun, I may just go steal her.

I know that the Mt. Crest band is a really important part of her life.  She had told me in the spring that Mt. Crest had this trailer with the band logo on it and I have been thinking about that shot ever since!  But even the best laid plans don't always come through.  When we got to the school the trailer was attached to the loading dock and in full shade.  So everything I had planned in my head was suddenly out the window.  So I made do.  And I LOVE how it turned out!

McKenzie is so brave too!  There were still lots of kids around the school, but she really didn't care.  She let me take her all over the school grounds and put her in weird situations with no regard at all to the football players watching.  She has great self confidence!  We also had to do one quick mother/daughter image and it turned out to be one of my favorite images of the shoot.  Thanks Buck girls, you're lots of fun!

Lauren + Matt | Northern Utah Wedding Photographer

I know that I've talked a lot about the weather here in Cache Valley in the fall and how it can change from summer to winter seemingly overnight, but this shoot was a classic example of that.  We had been keeping an eye on the weather and it didn't look like we were going to be able to shoot, but the bride was certain we would be able to get some great shots so we soldiered through.  We did get some great shots, and in the end we scheduled another day hoping that the weather might be better that day.  It was, but only by a little.  So once again we made do.  I like a good challenge!

Come like my page on Facebook!  I'm kind of a fan horder and would love a few more.

Fiefia Family | Logan Utah Family Photographer

We have had the best fall here in Cache Valley.  When the leaves started to turn early in September I really worried that it would be gone in a flash, but it has held on.  The one exception was the day we had planned to take this cute family's pictures.  We both kept a close eye on the weather and held out until the bitter end to see if it would change and it didn't so we had to reschedule.

The day we rescheduled for ended up being a beautiful day! And a lot of days since have been wonderful photography weather.  This family is the absolute funnest!  A lot of times older boys don't really love having their picture taken.  Their boys were the best sports and so much fun.  It was great to get to meet them and I hope I get to work with them again soon.

Come find me on Facebook!  I post a little more regularly there.

Anders Turns One | Logan Utah Family Photographer

Where does the time go?!  Really, it was just yesterday when our friends Jon and Jen told us they were expecting this little guy and he is already turning one!  He is such a happy little guy and I know he brings immeasurable joy to his mom and dad. There was only one time he wasn't too happy to have his pictures taken, and of course I had to take the picture and add it here because it was still pretty cute.  I also talked his mom and dad into some family pictures even though it was supposed to be all about Anders. Now if time could just stand still so he's not asking for the keys to the car in what will seem like a week from now.

Kaela + Darrell | Logan Utah Wedding Photographer

One of the most important things in a marriage, I think, is that a couple truly knows how to have fun together.  In fact, one of the things I say most to my husband is, "who has more fun than us?!".  Kaela and Darrell know how to have fun.  They loved to pull funny faces at each other to make the other laugh.  They both pulled awesome faces at the camera just to make us laugh.  He jumped over her just to get a great shot and apparently it's not the first time he's done this trick either.  They were a really fun couple.

Brandi invited me out on this shoot with her.  She is shooting their wedding in December and I will be second shooting it.  The house we went to in Paradise was just that, Paradise.  It was down a beautiful lane and the fall colors were just perfect.  I can't wait to see these guys again in December.  They really were that much fun!

Nicole - Senior Model 2013 | Logan High Senior Photographer

Nicole is another one of my senior models for this year.  You can see her previous shoot here.  She is so much fun to work with and THOSE EYES!  I die.  When we met the first time we didn't have much of a plan on where to go for her pictures.  But this time she knew exactly where she wanted to go.  She wanted to shoot them on the campus of Logan High.  I have never been on the back side of that school and I was shocked!  It's gorgeous back there!  The river runs right through the campus and there are these awesome archways.  There were tons of trees and the leaves were so pretty.  I'm so glad she had that idea I will definitely be going back to shoot there.

I'm most thankful to Nicole for not laughing her head off when I fell into a mud puddle.  Yes, it's true, I did.  And if you know me very well, it's not hard to imagine me doing this.  I'm a natural born klutz.  I only fell a little into the puddle, but made a very big mess.  I'm classy like that :)

Wood Family | Logan Utah Family Photographer

I have had the pleasure of taking pictures for this family a few times and I am happy to do it.  Their daughters and beautiful and so much fun.  The boys have a lot of energy and the youngest came with a great attitude this time.  I took the kids pictures last year and the mom's pictures this spring so it was only time to do the entire family's pictures.

They took me to a spot in Logan I didn't even know existed!  I'm sure there are plenty of photographers in Cache Valley that know about (since there was another family getting their pictures done when we got there)  but I had never even heard of it and it's right in the middle of Logan.  I loved that it had a little bit of everything, the cool rock walls, the wall full of graffiti, a nice scenic spot on the banks of the river, etc.  We had a lot of fun exploring Logan's nooks and crannies.  Thanks Wood family for letting me take your pictures and showing me new cool places to take pictures!
