True confession time, for some reason I was scared to death about this session! I have finally gotten to the point where I'm not super nervous every time I walk out the door to a session, but this one had me worried. When they contacted me, they told me they had just moved here from out of state. There were wanting, what I would call, the quintessential Cache Valley portrait session. Beautiful fall leaves, next to barns, with our gorgeous mountains in the background. I really struggled on finding the right spot. I finally decided to have them meet me at the American West Heritage Center and we would go from there. We weren't going to be able to go inside because it was a Sunday, but I had hoped I'd be able to get the beautiful Wellsvilles in the background.
The day of the shoot came and it was pouring rain. I contacted them and we decided to put it off until the next Sunday, at that time, the forecast said rain that day too. The next Sunday came and sure enough, rain. We decided to wait it out and see what happened and low and behold, the clouds opened up and the sun came out! For a minute. By the time the session started it had clouded over again but no rain. Thank heavens it did though our that spot would not have worked AT ALL. I went to meet someone there this weekend and it was just way too bright. So thank heavens for rainy days.
This ended up being one of my all time favorites sessions! It may not have had the perfect fall leaves (because they have been so weird lately, but it was a fun location, and a SUPER CUTE family who was willing to put up with my crazy ideas. The cloudy light was perfection. So thanks G family for choosing me to do your family photos, I had the best time!
