Family Pictures Logan Utah

I know there are a lot of photographers out there that are intimidated by family portraits.  It can be daunting, it's hard to get everyone to look at you at the same time, but I really enjoy doing them.  It's really fun for me to get to know a family and I like the posing challenge.  Sounds weird, I know, but it's fun for me.

This was such a great opportunity for me.  This cute family was from out of state and with children living here and there, they don't always get to have all of their children in one place.  So I felt pretty lucky to be included in that.  This was another case of me not really getting to pick the time we shot, but again, I got lucky and it was a nice cloudy day.  This family was so fun and I got a ton of really cute shots.  I hope you enjoy!

Family Portraits Logan Utah | The S Family

Happy New Year everyone!  Hope everyone had a great 2014 and will have an even better 2015, I'm planning on it.  Now that the holidays are over, I finally get to post this cute family session I did back in November.  It was for their Christmas cards so I had to hold off on posting so they could get their cards out first.  It was so hard for me, I just loved these!

Back in November, we had a serious cold snap!  It snowed a little then got really really cold.  We had this session set up and I knew she had a tiny one so I was a little worried about him.  We talked the morning of the shoot and decided mom would bundle him up good and we work as fast as possible. This was possibly one of the fastest shoots I have ever done!  20 minutes! After each pose we grabbed the blanket and wrapped that baby up but good! The kids did such a great job, got right in and got it done :)  Now I sort of want to have snow for every shoot I do from here on out!

Logan Utah Family Pictures

Hi, remember me?  I used to write on this blog every once in awhile.  It's been so long I almost forgot how to log in!  I am still posting family sessions from back when the leaves were still gorgeous.  Here I sit, mid-December, wishing for this gorgeous weather to come back.  But at least it's giving me some time to catch up on blogging.

I had the pleasure of photographing this cute family back in the spring.  This fall they had some exciting additions to their family, so I got to take them about once again!  I am so grateful for repeat clients and those that are a little flexible.  I had set up a place to take them out to shoot and when I got there I could tell it just wasn't going to work at that time of day AT ALL.  So we headed to another spot and they were just fine with it.

Keep checking back, hopefully I keep remembering to post more of my fall sessions!

Utah Family Portraits | Logan Utah Photographer

It's been a busy fall with lots of family pictures and I am finally getting around to blogging some of them.  This cute rambunctious family happens to be full of my nephews :)  This is my husband's sister and her fun family.  These boys are always so full of energy, it's hard to keep up!   We ended up getting some really cute pictures when they held still though.  During my family sessions I also include individual pictures of all of the kids.  This isn't usually something that I put on my blog, for reasons I don't really know.  So I added a few to this post so you can get an idea of what you get with your own sessions.  I still have time for a few sessions before winter hits, so if you still need family pictures this fall, contact me for a spot.

Fall Family Pictures in Logan Utah | Northern Utah Photographer

True confession time, for some reason I was scared to death about this session!  I have finally gotten to the point where I'm not super nervous every time I walk out the door to a session, but this one had me worried.  When they contacted me, they told me they had just moved here from out of state.  There were wanting, what I would call, the quintessential Cache Valley portrait session.  Beautiful fall leaves, next to barns, with our gorgeous mountains in the background.  I really struggled on finding the right spot.  I finally decided to have them meet me at the American West Heritage Center and we would go from there.  We weren't going to be able to go inside because it was a Sunday, but I had hoped I'd be able to get the beautiful Wellsvilles in the background.

The day of the shoot came and it was pouring rain.  I contacted them and we decided to put it off until the next Sunday, at that time, the forecast said rain that day too.  The next Sunday came and sure enough, rain.  We decided to wait it out and see what happened and low and behold, the clouds opened up and the sun came out!  For a minute.  By the time the session started it had clouded over again but no rain. Thank heavens it did though our that spot would not have worked AT ALL.  I went to meet someone there this weekend and it was just way too bright.  So thank heavens for rainy days.

This ended up being one of my all time favorites sessions! It may not have had the perfect fall leaves (because they have been so weird lately, but it was a fun location, and a SUPER CUTE family who was willing to put up with my crazy ideas.  The cloudy light was perfection.  So thanks G family for choosing me to do your family photos, I had the best time!

L Family | Logan Utah Family Photographer

Seriously, sometimes the best part about this job is the connections you get to make with people.  I first met the mom and daughter in this family when they asked me to take her Senior Portraits.  We had so much fun doing that, she has a smile that lights up her whole being and it's super infections!  So I was more that thrilled when they called me recently about doing their family portraits before their daughter leaves on an LDS mission.  I also got to take her missionary pictures, check back soon for those cute pics.

For a family full of mostly boys, they were really great sports about getting their pictures taken (in case you don't know, boys don't really love having portraits done LOL).  Especially when they thought they were all done and I pulled them back in for a few more.  I'm so mean like that sometimes.  They turned out so cute and I'm super thankful to them for letting me share them here on my blog.
