I recently attended a workshop in Idaho that was taught by the awesome Craig LaMere. Lately, he's pretty much my idol. Until next week and I find another photographer I become obsessed with. Anyway..... while there I learned a lot about using light and strobes. When I left I had finally convinced myself that I really needed to give in and buy a big light. So I did.
Just a few days after it came I wrangled one of my bestie's sons into posing for me so I could take it out and try it. Can I just say that I am in LOVE! It's going to change a lot for me I think (hope). It was getting dark fast and was super cold so we didn't get too many shots (I also didn't really need too many). But I love how these turned out and I can't wait to practice more and see what I can do!

Josh | Salt Lake City Senior Portrait Photographer
Winter is just about upon us which means that the outdoor photography season may be coming to and end soon. Luckily I got to work in this awesome Senior before the weather changed. Josh is a Senior at Alta High School. I love doing Senior pics in Salt Lake because it challenges me. I can't rely on going to the same locations I shoot at in Cache Valley so it makes me get more creative. Both he and his mother had gone out spotting for locations and both of them had decided this park would make a good spot, separately. So it must have been a great space! It did have a pretty awesome tree in it.
These two were so much fun to work with! I felt like I kind of forced Josh to play a little soccer at the end because I love to do the athlete shots so much. In fact, I probably show case them a little too much because I had someone ask me if I just do regular Senior Portraits and not just sports ones. I promise, I do, and I love to do those just as much!

Addy | Salt Lake City Utah Senior Portrait Photographer
I've been so lucky this year because not only have gotten to photograph Seniors from Cache Valley but I've also had a few from Salt Lake City as well. I love a good road trip so heading to Salt Lake for Senior Portraits is actually really fun for me!
This beautiful girl is a Senior at Juan Diego High School. She was on a tight deadline for her senior pictures and the weather wasn't helping us out any! We had scheduled for a Sunday but it rained, all day. So we had to reschedule for the following Friday and I'm a little glad we did because it was a gorgeous day at Wheeler Farm. Her super cute family came along and we snapped a couple of images of them as well. They were the funnest family! I love doing Senior Portraits so much that I had to tell her that she would need to tell me when she was done because I would seriously just take her pictures all day! Enjoy!

My | Logan Utah Senior Portrait Photographer
I'm so excited that there are so many Utah seniors recently who have decided to get their senior portraits done in the fall! It's so beautiful in Cache Valley this time of year. This cute girl put hers off for a couple of weeks just to see if the colors would change. They didn't. We still had so much fun though!
My is pretty much one of the most adorable people I have ever met! She was so much fun and was game for anything. She was so smart! She had several outfit changes she wanted so she had clothes underneath everything so she could just change wherever she wanted.
At the end of the shoot we drove around frantically looking for a good place to catch the sunset. We wandered out into a field and got some shots but then got chased out by mosquitoes! They were so bad. You could see them in a lot of the pictures (of course they all got edited out). They were HUGE! But she was a really good sport about it. Prepare for image overload because I just loved so many of them!

The W Family | Northern Utah Family Photographer
I have so much to be thankful for with this family portrait session. I was having a really bad day that day. I was feeling really taken advantage of as a photographer and was just not loving the business side of being my own boss. Sometimes I just want to take the pictures, I don't want to have to do the hard stuff lol! But after this session I was reminded of why I do all this. We had so much fun and I told them as we were leaving that they had restored my faith in photography again. I really do love it.
The mom of this cute family and I used to get into a whole lot of trouble together in high school. The years went on though and we hadn't seen each other for many of them. So when she called me to do their family pictures I was so excited to see her again! She has such a cute family, they were so much fun to be around. I hope that years and years don't pass again before I get to see them all (luckily they probably won't will since I talked her oldest into being a Senior Model for me next year).
Today is the last day to get in on the September Family Portrait Special. I will be posting a special for October though so check back later in the week for that!
