Logan Utah Formal Wedding Photography

This is the last in my series of portraits from my beautiful niece's wedding.  She totally had the right idea about these pictures.  She waited until a week after the wedding to do these.  There is a trend here in Utah weddings (and yes, I've asked around, it's just a Utah thing) where the bride and groom go out before the wedding and do formal pictures.  I sort of think this is an interesting trend.  It totally ruins the surprise of the groom seeing his bride in her dress for the first time on the day of the wedding.  I'm not really a traditionalist, but it does take out a bit of the fun of it all.

With these though, she got to save the surprise for walking down the aisle.  The best part for me, there was no pressure the day of the wedding to get everything stuffed in during the allotted time, we just went out and took our time and got some gorgeous pictures.  It was perfect timing too.  The lilacs were out and everything was so lovely and green.  Their whole wedding experience was just perfect.  I'm so lucky I get to call them family!

Logan Utah Bridal Photography

I'm so excited to share today's blog post!  I've had these portraits for so long and I've neglected my blog and didn't get to post them (see last post for my terrible apology)  but I'm catching up and that's all that matters right?

As I've stated about a millions times, I no longer shoot weddings, but I LOOOOOOVE to shoot bridals!  This is my gorgeous niece who was married in April.  I posted her fun engagement pictures here.  We hurried out before her wedding to take a few bridal portraits and I was just a little worried.  It was the middle of the day and not great for light, but as luck would have it, it clouded up and started to rain just a tiny bit so I had nothing to fear.  She was such a beautiful bride!  I'm so excited for her and this exciting next adventure in life!

Logan Utah Senior Pictures

How has everyone's summer been?  Mine has been exceptionally busy!  So busy I've neglected my blog. Today I went to finally get some posts ready and I found that I had started a bunch of posts back in May and I hadn't ever finished them.  So get ready for photography over load.

I photographed this gorgeous senior as part of my Senior Rep program last fall.  I love getting to photograph these girls twice, it's amazing to me how much they change in a year!  They grow up so fast! We had so much fun on this shoot.  I think I pretty much shot until the sun went down because we were having too much fun!  It's been a couple of months since I've done Senior Portraits and I miss it, so please, if you need some give me a call, we'll have a blast!

Utah Senior Portrait Photographer | Logan High Senior

It's turned to fall here which means lots of people wanting gorgeous images in the leaves.  I love fall, I used to love it more before I started to hate winter and now I realize it means that winter is coming, but now it has a special place for me because it means I get to do lots of fun photo shoots!

Up first is this Senior for Logan High School.  He just moved to Cache Valley for his Senior year, he is currently living with his grandparents while the whole rest of his family lives out of state.  His mom contacted me through my website and asked me to do his pictures.  Truthfully, I was a little nervous because she wasn't here to tell me the vision she had in mind for his pictures, but I think we both came away happy with the product!

He was such a great sport about getting his pictures done too.  The first thing I asked him was if this was his idea or if it was his moms, he admitted it was his mom's so I told him I would try to make it as quick and painless as possible. I had so much fun shooting him with his awesome Jeep!  Such a cool backdrop.  In the end, I don't think he thought it was so bad.  Even if he did have to remove a dead snake from one of the shots (true story, too gross, I can't even....)

Meg Bridals | Northern Utah Bridal Photographer

As I've said probably 5 million times on this here blog, I'm no longer shooting weddings.  But you probably also know that I am not one to pass up the opportunity to shoot bridals, I looooooove shooting bridal portraits!  Through a strange twist of fate, I actually did end up shooting this gorgeous girl's wedding.  With some very good sweet talk and a call from my mother-in-law, I was convinced to shoot this one wedding this year.  You probably won't see the pics on here though because I don't like to showcase things that I don't shoot.  Kind of confuses people.

For this bridal shoot we headed up to the Logan Temple.  The happy couple was getting married there in June (yep, I'm that far behind on blogging) so we decided to start there and find another location for some other shots.  She brought along her mom and her cutest ever grandma.  They were such good sports on indulging me and my over active shooting.  Sometimes I need to be told when someone is done or else I will just keep shooting until it gets too dark.  I have issues.  After the temple we headed to a small park on the USU campus.  The blossoms were out and it was just too gorgeous!

Her wedding day turned out great.  There was threats of rain so her mom bought a cute umbrella to match her colors.  Turned out that we didn't even need it though because it didn't start raining until we got in the car after taking her formals.  What luck!  And rain on your wedding day is supposed to be good luck.  These two won't need it though, I'm not sure I've ever seen a bride and groom so happy on their wedding day.
